'Open mic night and a beer at @dock_29 will do nicely, thank you. This clean lager by @brewgooder is genuinely the tastiest lager I've had in a LONG time. Oh, and the company give 100% of their profits to clean water charities. Ain't it lovely when a good time and a positive impact can go hand in hand? Instagram post, April '16
I love a good beer and, living in Leeds, I'm always a bit spoilt for choice. There's undoubtedly been a boom in the craft beer industry and there's just no excuse for drinking anything that's less than completely delicious. It's easier than ever to get your hands on ale that's made locally, in a small batch, with stellar ingredients and by lovely people. So how do you decide which to crack open on a Friday night?
Brewgooder lager is not only super clean, fresh and delicious but as their motto 'Drink Beer, Give Water' suggests, it also makes an impact. In its first year, the company funded two new well projects in Malawi providing 5,000 people with clean drinking water, and they've got their sights set on getting that number to 1,000,000.
Brewgooder beers are also the product of a boatload of collaboration. The company makes their beer using BrewDog's Ellon brewery, and work closely with WaterAid, Oxfam and Mercy Corps to make sure their profit goes right to the heart of clean water delivery. They also throw some thanks towards their digital and charity partners for helping them to spread the word; nice, right?
You can pick up cans of Clean Water Lager in 225 ASDA stores across the UK and in bars lovely enough to pick it up. It's such an easy choice.
